Last week I had the opportunity to co-present at the International
Association of Avaya Users Conference. First, a couple
of thank you's....
to Avaya's Allan Mendelsohn for inviting me and organizing
our session...
to Lynne Canavan for pulling together a great event...
and to the IBM-Avaya Alliance team for not laughing (too
much) when I walked into dinner utterly and completely
dripping wet from the torrential rain. You would have
thought I walked through a car wash.
While the rain was memorable, the most energizing (and
entertaining) 20 minutes of the entire event was the
time I spent with Robert Gill, President & CEO of
Communication Resources, Inc. (CRI). Bob gave me a little
demo of CRI's Integrated Server. It packs Avaya Application
Enablement Services, Intelligent Presence Server, one-X
Portal, one-X Mobile, and Sametime Standard on a single
1U server. The IS provides a fully integrated proof
of concept deployment for 50-100 people at a fixed price
with up to 20 hours of Help Desk Support.
Moreover, CRI is interested in working with the Sametime
business partner community to bridge the gap between
collaboration and Avaya telephony. They have several
